01 — Overview

What is C-SSH?

C-SSH is a server workspace that brings hosts, terminals, remote desktops, monitoring, file management, and an AI assistant into one client. It runs on Windows x64/ARM64, Apple Silicon Mac, Android, and Linux x86_64/ARM64, with a local-first design: you can use the server tools without signing in, and only connect to a cloud when you want to sync configuration between devices. Hosts are organized by project with search and favorites, and connections use either an IP address or domain name.

The AI layer is built for investigation rather than chat for its own sake. There are three scopes—global, project, and host—so the assistant only sees the context you allow, and AI conversations plus long-term memory stay on your device rather than syncing through the cloud. When you use a model, only the selected context is sent to your chosen provider. Cloud sync is manual and covers hosts, proxy profiles, and model accounts; credentials are encrypted on the client before upload, and local credentials use your system key store. The cloud itself can be the official one or a self-hosted Creation Cloud deployment.

Vinggle verdict A well-architected server workspace that treats AI as one tool among many—local-first, transparent about data boundaries, and genuinely useful for daily ops.

02 — Key features

What it does best.

  1. 01

    Three Scoped AI Assistant

Global, project, and host scopes limit what the assistant can see, and conversations plus memory stay local rather than syncing to cloud.

  2. 02

    Local-First with Optional Sync

Use server tools without an account; sync hosts, proxy profiles, and model accounts manually across devices when you choose.

  3. 03

    Persistent Terminals Across Platforms

Linux uses tmux; Windows uses Agent and Terminal2/psmux, so you can reconnect to an existing session after closing the client.

  4. 04

    Self-Hosted Cloud Option

Point the client at your own Creation Cloud deployment instead of the official one, keeping login and sync state fully isolated.

03 — Honest take

Pros & cons.

Why we like it

  • No account required for local use — you can work with your servers immediately without signing in to anything
  • AI privacy is genuinely thoughtful — conversations and long-term memory stay on your device, and only selected context reaches your chosen model provider
  • Self-hosted cloud option — agencies and privacy-conscious teams can run their own Creation Cloud instead of relying on the official one
  • Broad platform coverage — Windows, Mac, Android, and Linux clients with a manual download model that avoids forced updates

Where it falls short

  • Pricing is not published anywhere on the site — you can't tell whether C-SSH is free, paid, or freemium without downloading it
  • iOS is not released — iPhone users are excluded for now, with no announced date
  • Manual downloads with no upgrade reminders — a deliberate choice that some users will like, but it means staying current is your responsibility
  • Android is missing desktop features — port forwarding, broadcasts, and saved commands are desktop-only
